Classic Milk Tart

Milk tart or melktert is a classic Afrikaans dessert that has grown to be a firm favourite with all South Africans. The local flea market or school sports’ day wouldn’t be the same without a serving of milk tart.

That said, once you know how to make it, you’ll be set for life! This is a traditional milk tart recipe with a short-crust pastry. However, if you’re pressed for time, you could use a ready-made pastry.

Don’t forget to sprinkle with loads of cinnamon.
